Privacy policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
This policy explains, in plain terms, what AlloPro does with your personal information on this website and in the AlloPro app.
1. Who we are
AlloPro connects homeowners on Montreal's South Shore with verified service providers, through the allopro.app website and the AlloPro app. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with and how long we keep it, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
2. Person in charge of privacy
AlloPro's Chief Executive Officer is the person in charge of the protection of personal information. For any question, request or complaint about your personal information, write to contact@allopro.app with "Privacy" in the subject line.
3. Information we collect
On this website — what you type in our forms (contact, pioneers list, service suggestion): your name, email, phone number if you give it, and your message. We also collect visit statistics (see section 6).
In the app, for every account — name, email, phone number, city and postal code.
For service providers — identity documents and, where the trade or profession requires it, licence and insurance certificate, reviewed before the profile is activated; for workers, the banking details needed to pay them.
For requests and jobs — the description, photos, availability, address of the work, offers and messages exchanged. Card numbers are entered with our payment processor, Stripe, and are never stored by AlloPro.
4. Why we use it
To create and verify accounts; connect homeowners and service providers; run offers, secure payment and the release of funds; provide support and mediation; prevent fraud; answer the messages you send us; measure how this website is used; and meet our legal obligations, including tax obligations.
We use your information only for these purposes, or with your consent for any new one.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information.
The service provider you choose — your exact address, phone and email are shared only once your payment is held securely, with that provider alone.
Our suppliers, only for what they need to run the service: Stripe (secure payments), Google (app notifications through Firebase, and website statistics through Google Analytics), Postmark (emails), Freshdesk (support) and our hosting providers. Some of them process information outside Quebec, for example in the United States; before such a transfer, we assess whether the information will be adequately protected, as Law 25 requires.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website sets a cookie that remembers your language (pll_language, kept 1 year) and uses Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics uses its own cookies and gives us statistics, not your identity. We use no advertising cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or refuse Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on, without losing access to the site.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active, then only as long as the law requires or a dispute needs it, after which it is destroyed or anonymized.
Data about financial transactions (amounts, dates, parties) is kept for the period required by Quebec tax and accounting rules. Messages sent through our website forms are kept as long as needed to answer them.
To close your account, see our Account deletion page.
8. Security
Information is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the team members who need it, and provider documents are reviewed by hand. No system is risk-free: if a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as the law requires.
9. Your rights
You can ask to access your information, have it corrected, receive it in a commonly used technological format, withdraw your consent, have it deleted, or have its dissemination stopped. Write to contact@allopro.app; we answer within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
10. Age requirement
AlloPro is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, the date at the top changes. Any significant change is announced on this website and in the app before it takes effect.
