LEGAL AGREEMENT
Terms of use
Last updated: October 02, 2026
These terms of use (the "Terms") form the contract between you and AlloPro. They apply to the allopro.app website, the mon.allopro.app web application and the AlloPro mobile applications for Android and iOS (together, the "Platform"). They explain how requests, offers, payment in trust, conciliation and the Pro subscription work — and what AlloPro does, and does not do. The French version of these Terms prevails (section 40).
The essentials
- AlloPro connects clients with verified providers. The contract for the work or advice is entered into between the client and the provider; AlloPro is not a party to it.
- The client pays nothing to AlloPro: creating an account, posting a request, receiving offers and paying for an order are free. The client pays the price agreed with the worker, plus taxes. AlloPro's commission is deducted from the worker's share.
- The client pays before the work starts. The worker's share is only paid out after the client approves the work, after automatic approval 48 hours after the completion notice if the client does not respond, or after a conciliation decision.
- Contact details and the exact address stay hidden until payment. Completing a deal off the Platform after being introduced through it is prohibited.
- If there is a disagreement, either party can open a conciliation in the app. Your rights before the courts and the Office de la protection du consommateur remain intact.
- Pros access the Platform by subscription, which can be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the current period.
- This summary does not replace the sections that follow.
Part 1 — General framework
1. Who we are
The Platform is operated by 9505-8319 Québec inc., a corporation incorporated in Québec (Québec enterprise number 1179369716), doing business as AlloPro ("AlloPro", "we").
Head office: 102 rue Tailhandier, Boucherville, Québec J4B 2T4, Canada. Email: contact@allopro.app. Phone: +1 (367) 776-1234.
2. Definitions
- Client: a person who posts a service request or contacts a Pro.
- Worker: a self-employed person or business that performs home services and submits offers to clients.
- Pro: an advisory professional, notably in real estate, mortgage financing or notarial law, who accesses the Platform by subscription.
- Provider: a worker or a Pro, without distinction.
- Request: a description of a need posted by a client.
- Offer: a price and date proposal a worker submits in response to a request, including counteroffers.
- Order: the offer accepted by the client, from its acceptance until it is closed.
- Service contract: the agreement between the client and the worker formed by accepting an offer.
- Payment in trust: the protected payment mechanism described in section 13.
- Conciliation: the internal disagreement-resolution procedure described in section 17.
- Content: text, photos, documents, messages, reviews and events published on the Platform.
3. Acceptance of the Terms
By creating an account and ticking the box provided for that purpose, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Platform. Simply browsing the website without an account is governed by sections 26, 34, 36 and 40.
The following form part of these Terms: the privacy policy, the "Account deletion" page, the summary shown before each payment and, for workers paid through Stripe Connect, the Stripe Connected Account Agreement (section 19). The privacy policy prevails on everything concerning your personal information.
We keep proof of your acceptance: the version of the Terms accepted, the date and time, the IP address and the type of device used. When the Terms change, we ask you to accept them again (section 39).
The Terms in force can be consulted at any time at allopro.app, and can be printed or saved.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have full capacity to contract. The Platform is not intended for minors.
A provider acting on behalf of a business represents that they are authorized to bind it. They represent that they practise lawfully in Québec and accurately declare, in their profile, whether or not they are registered for GST and QST: that declaration determines the taxes charged to the client.
5. Your account
The information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date. An account is personal: it may not be lent, sold or transferred.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials and the verification codes we send you confidential, and for activity carried out from your account. Notify us without delay at contact@allopro.app of any unauthorized use.
For your security, we may limit the number of devices signed in to an account at the same time and close the oldest sessions.
6. AlloPro's role
AlloPro provides a technical connection service: prior verification of providers, the request and negotiation tool, payment facilitation with its partner Stripe, messaging and conciliation.
The service contract is entered into directly between the client and the provider. AlloPro is not a party to it: it does not perform or supervise the work, gives no professional advice, and is neither the employer, the agent nor the partner of providers.
Providers are self-employed persons or independent businesses. They freely set their prices, freely accept or decline requests, choose their hours and working methods, and supply their own tools. AlloPro has no relationship of subordination with them and imposes no exclusivity on them.
7. Verification of providers
A provider is only visible to clients after our team has manually reviewed their profile, based on the following documents:
- a valid photo identity document;
- proof of registration of the business with the Québec enterprise register (NEQ), when the provider operates as a company or under a name other than their own;
- the permit or licence required by the trade (for example Régie du bâtiment du Québec, Corporation des maîtres électriciens, Corporation des maîtres mécaniciens en tuyauterie), with its number;
- a valid civil liability insurance certificate, mandatory for regulated trades;
- for a Pro, proof of their right to practise (for example OACIQ, Autorité des marchés financiers, Chambre des notaires) and, where their order requires it, of their professional liability insurance;
- if registered for sales taxes, their GST and QST numbers.
Any substantial change to the profile returns it to pending verification. We may refuse or remove a profile that does not meet our criteria.
Verification covers identity, the presence of the required documents and their apparent validity, at the time it is carried out. It is neither a recommendation, nor a guarantee of competence, nor a check of the provider's solvency or of the extent of their insurance coverage.
8. Regulated trades and licences
Some work and services may only be performed in Québec by the holder of a permit or right to practise, notably from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, the Corporation des maîtres mécaniciens en tuyauterie du Québec, the Corporation des maîtres électriciens du Québec, the Organisme d'autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec, the Autorité des marchés financiers or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
AlloPro only opens trades in its catalogue when it is able to verify the corresponding licence. A trade absent from the catalogue can be the subject of neither a request nor an offer. A profile in a regulated trade is only activated with a valid permit and insurance certificate; if they expire, the profile stops being visible until valid documents are provided, with no effect on orders already paid.
The provider represents and warrants that, throughout their activity on the Platform, they hold the permits, licences, certifications and insurance required by their trade or professional order, provide proof of them to AlloPro on request, and comply with the rules that govern it, notably on advertising, remuneration and conflicts of interest. They inform AlloPro without delay of any suspension or revocation. Failure to do so results in account closure.
9. Service area
AlloPro currently serves the Longueuil agglomeration: Longueuil, Saint-Hubert, Boucherville, Saint-Lambert, Brossard and Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, according to the postal codes open. Each worker chooses the postal codes they serve.
A request can only be posted in an open area; you may suggest a missing area or trade to us. AlloPro may open or close an area or trade, with no effect on orders already paid.
Part 2 — Requests, offers and orders
10. Service requests
A request covers a single service. The client describes it accurately — nature of the work, photos, availability, area — and represents that they have the right to have the work done at the address given, as owner or with the owner's authorization.
The request is shown to verified workers matching the trade and area. AlloPro does not guarantee that a request will receive offers. The client may withdraw a request as long as no offer has been paid.
The client's exact address and contact details are only shared with the worker after payment.
11. Offers, negotiation and formation of the contract
The worker submits an offer stating their price, the proposed date and what the price includes (labour, materials, travel). Negotiation proceeds through alternating counteroffers, one at a time, on price and date; no past date may be proposed. Declining an offer ends the negotiation on it.
Before accepting, the client sees the worker's price, taxes and the total to pay, as well as the worker's identity: their name or business name and, where the trade requires it, their licence number. Before submitting an offer, the worker sees the amount they will receive, net of commission.
A submitted offer binds the worker on the proposed price and date as long as it has not been withdrawn or declined. The client's acceptance of an offer forms the service contract between the client and the worker, subject to the payment provided for in section 13: until that payment is made, the worker is not required to perform and either party may withdraw at no cost.
Additional work not covered by the offer must be the subject of a new request or a new offer on the Platform before it is carried out; otherwise it is covered neither by payment in trust nor by conciliation.
12. Price, commission and taxes
The offer price is freely set by the worker, between $20 and $10,000 per order, before taxes.
The client pays no fee to AlloPro. The client pays the offer price and, if the worker is registered for GST and QST, those taxes. Creating an account, posting a request, receiving offers and paying for an order are free.
The worker pays AlloPro a commission, deducted from their share when it is paid out: 14.9% of the offer price, with a minimum of $5 per order. Of this rate, 2.9% is the payment partner's fees. GST and QST are added to the commission, according to AlloPro's registration, and deducted with it. Submitting offers is free and unlimited; no commission is due on an order refunded in full.
The amount the worker will receive is shown to them before they submit an offer. Any change to the rate or the minimum is announced at least 21 days in advance (section 39) and only applies to offers submitted after it takes effect.
All amounts are in Canadian dollars. An invoice is issued for each paid order, and workers have a statement of the commissions deducted in the app.
Implementation. The rules in this section apply to offers accepted from the time they go live in the app, as announced by notice. For an order accepted before then, the price, fees and taxes shown in the summary before payment prevail.
The provider remains solely responsible for their tax obligations, for collecting and remitting taxes on their own services, and for their filings as a self-employed person or business.
13. Payment in trust
The client pays for the order by credit card, before the work starts, through our payment partner Stripe. AlloPro does not store card numbers.
Whatever the payment mode, the worker's share is only paid out after one of the following three events:
- the client's approval of the work (section 14);
- the automatic approval provided for in section 14;
- a conciliation decision (section 17).
"Payment in trust" means, in these Terms, this protected payment mechanism, operated with Stripe.
Two payment modes coexist. The one that applies to an order depends on the worker's area.
13.1 Standard mode. The amount is charged to the client's card at the time of payment, and held with Stripe until one of the three events above. The worker's share is then credited to their AlloPro balance (section 19.1).
13.2 Stripe Connect mode. The amount is authorized on the client's card at the time of payment, then charged when the order is closed. Stripe then pays the worker their share directly, net of commission (section 19.2).
Payment confirms the order. It triggers the automatic sharing of the client's exact address and contact details with the worker, and opens messaging between them.
14. Performance, completion and approval
The worker performs the work on the agreed date, in a workmanlike manner and in accordance with applicable standards. The client gives access to the premises and informs the worker of any particular risk.
When the work is complete, the worker declares it in the app, with at least one photo, a description and their location on site at the time of the declaration. The client is notified.
The client checks the work and either approves it, or opens a conciliation (section 17) if they find a problem.
Automatic approval. If the client does not respond, we send a reminder 1 hour and then 24 hours after the completion notice. If, 48 hours after the completion notice, the client has neither approved the work nor opened a conciliation, the order is automatically deemed approved and the worker's share is paid out.
Approval, manual or automatic, authorizes the payout to the worker. It does not deprive the client of the legal warranties owed by the worker on their work.
15. Cancellation, rescheduling and no-shows
Before payment, either party may withdraw freely: the client may withdraw their request or decline an offer, the worker may withdraw their offer.
After payment, cancellation is requested from AlloPro, at contact@allopro.app:
- if the client cancels more than 24 hours before the agreed date, they are refunded in full;
- if the client cancels less than 24 hours before the agreed date, costs actually incurred by the worker and duly substantiated may be withheld; the rest is refunded;
- if the worker cancels, or fails to show up on the agreed date without reasonable notice, the client is refunded in full. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may reduce the profile's visibility or lead to its suspension.
A change of date is agreed between the parties through messaging; failing agreement, the cancellation rules above apply.
16. Refunds
Every refund is decided by AlloPro, following a cancellation, a conciliation, a service not rendered, an established quality issue or a goodwill gesture. The reason is communicated to the client and the worker.
The refund is made to the original payment method. How long it takes to appear on your statement depends on your financial institution.
A refund reduces the order price by the same amount: the worker's share and the commission are recalculated on the price that remains paid, and a full refund cancels the commission. A goodwill gesture decided by AlloPro is borne by AlloPro alone and does not reduce the worker's share. A refund resulting from the worker's failure is charged to them according to the outcome of the conciliation (section 17).
If the worker's share has already been paid out, the refunded amount charged to them becomes a sum owed to AlloPro. The worker authorizes AlloPro to set it off against their future payouts; failing sufficient payouts within 30 days, they repay it on request.
17. Conciliation
If there is a disagreement about a paid order — quality, conformity with the offer, work not performed — the client or the worker may open a conciliation in the app. Only one conciliation can be in progress for a given order.
From the moment it opens, each party may submit evidence — statements, photos, documents — until AlloPro's team begins reviewing the file. During the conciliation, the worker's share is neither paid out nor withdrawable.
AlloPro's team reviews both parties' evidence, the accepted offer, the messaging history and the completion proof, then decides either to pay out the worker's share or to refund the client in whole or in part. The decision and its reasons are communicated to both parties in the app.
If no decision is made within 14 days of the opening, the conciliation is closed without a refund and the worker's share is paid out.
Conciliation is a free, internal contractual measure. It is neither mediation nor arbitration within the meaning of the law, and AlloPro's team gives no legal advice in it: it only decides on the payout or refund of sums paid through the Platform. It does not deprive any party of the right to go to the competent courts or to contact the Office de la protection du consommateur.
18. Disputing a charge with the card issuer
We encourage the client to open a conciliation before disputing a payment with their card issuer: it is faster and free.
If a charge is disputed, the worker's share for the order is held until the issuer decides. AlloPro may send the issuer and Stripe the order information needed for its defence: accepted offer, messages, completion proof, approval and review.
If the dispute is decided in the client's favour because the service was not rendered or does not conform, the amount taken back is charged to the worker under section 16. In all other cases, AlloPro bears the loss.
19. Payouts to workers
The payout mode follows the order's payment mode (section 13).
19.1 Standard mode — AlloPro balance and withdrawal. The worker's share, net of commission, is credited to their AlloPro balance. They request a withdrawal to a Canadian bank account in their name, and AlloPro processes the request. The balance available for withdrawal excludes pending withdrawal requests, the share of orders not yet closed and amounts held because of a conciliation or a disputed charge.
19.2 Stripe Connect mode. The worker opens a Stripe account, and their share, net of commission, is transferred by Stripe when the order is closed; nothing is transferred while a conciliation or a disputed charge is pending. Payment processing services are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service. By agreeing to these Terms or continuing to receive payments, the worker agrees to be bound by that agreement, as amended by Stripe from time to time. They authorize AlloPro to share with Stripe information about them and their transactions.
The worker is responsible for the accuracy of their banking details. AlloPro is not responsible for a payout made in accordance with the details provided.
20. Reviews
The client may review the worker after an order closed and paid through the Platform, on several criteria, and review a Pro following an exchange. A review must be honest, respectful and based on a real experience.
AlloPro may remove an unlawful, defamatory or fraudulent review, or one unrelated to the service. It does not remove a negative review merely at the request of the person concerned, and no position in results can be purchased.
Part 3 — Pros
21. Pro subscription
Pros access the Platform by subscription, with no commission on their contracts. The plans, their price, applicable taxes and, where offered, the trial period are shown in the app before subscribing. Payment is processed by Stripe.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in force. We notify you in the app 7 days and then 3 days before the end of each period.
You may cancel at any time from the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, whose date is shown to you; no further amount is charged. A period already begun is not refunded, subject to the rights the law grants you.
Any price change is announced at least 30 days in advance and only applies from the following renewal. If a payment fails, access may be suspended until it is settled.
22. End of subscription and access to history
Access to messaging and events is consideration for the subscription. When the subscription ends — cancellation, non-renewal or payment default — that access ends on the date shown in the app ("access until"). The profile, notifications and the ability to resubscribe remain.
Your information is not destroyed when access ends: it is kept for the periods set out in the privacy policy, and you may obtain a copy on request. Resubscribing restores online access to whatever has not yet been destroyed.
23. Events published by Pros
A subscribed Pro may publish events (information sessions, visits, meetings). They are reviewed by AlloPro before being shown and removed from the Platform once past. The Pro is solely responsible for their accuracy, for holding them and for complying with the rules of their profession. A client may express interest in an event; doing so creates no obligation.
24. Pros' contact details and exchanges
The Pro chooses, in their profile, whether their contact details are shown to clients. They communicate directly with clients through messaging during their subscription.
AlloPro does not verify the content of the advice given and is not a party to engagements entered into between a Pro and a client. It does not solicit, negotiate or sell any insurance product, financial product or service, or real estate or mortgage brokerage service, takes part in no transaction and shares no remuneration with a Pro: the subscription is the only amount it receives from them.
Part 4 — Rules of conduct and content
25. No circumvention
Using the Platform to obtain a contact and then completing the transaction off the Platform to avoid the commission is prohibited. Sharing personal contact details in a request, an offer or a message before messaging opens is likewise prohibited.
These rules protect payment in trust, conciliation and fairness to providers who follow them. Breaching them may lead to account suspension.
26. Prohibited conduct and content
The following are prohibited on the Platform, among others:
- providing false or misleading information, impersonating a person or a professional qualification;
- publishing hateful, harassing, threatening, violent, discriminatory, defamatory, sexually explicit or otherwise unlawful content;
- publishing content that infringes the privacy, image or intellectual property rights of others;
- soliciting users for purposes unrelated to the services offered, or sending spam;
- posting or obtaining reviews that are not based on a real service;
- attempting to access accounts, data or parts of the Platform without authorization, or circumventing its security or verification measures;
- mass-extracting Platform content by automated means;
- using the Platform for an illegal activity or for fraudulent purposes.
27. User-published content
You retain the rights to the Content you publish. You grant AlloPro a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence limited to operating the Platform: hosting your Content, adapting it technically, displaying it to the users concerned and keeping it as long as needed for evidence in a conciliation or dispute.
You warrant that you hold the rights to what you publish. You undertake not to photograph identifiable people without their consent, and to publish photos of the inside of a home only for the purposes of the request or order.
28. Reporting and moderation
You may report a message, a profile or an event that breaches these Terms, in the app or at contact@allopro.app. We review every report and may remove Content, issue a warning, or suspend or close an account.
AlloPro does not continuously monitor all Content, but acts diligently when unlawful Content is brought to its attention.
29. Account suspension and closure
AlloPro may suspend or close an account in the event of a breach of these Terms, conduct that puts user safety at issue, fraud or a legal obligation. Except in an emergency or where the law requires otherwise, the person concerned is told the reason and may respond.
Suspension or closure does not extinguish obligations arising before it, in particular payment of sums owed and performance of paid orders.
Part 5 — Data, communications and app
30. Personal information
We process your personal information in accordance with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector and our privacy policy, which sets out what we collect, why, with whom we share it, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights.
Note in particular that the worker's location is recorded when they declare the work complete, that the photos and messages of an order may be used as evidence in a conciliation or a disputed charge, and that our suppliers — notably Stripe for payments, Firebase for notifications, Pusher for messaging and Postmark for email — process information on our behalf, sometimes outside Québec.
31. Electronic communications
Emails and notifications tied to the operation of the service — confirmations, new offers, payment notices, approval reminders, security alerts — are necessary to perform the contract and cannot be declined while the account is active. You can manage push notifications in your device settings.
Promotional communications, including the newsletter, are only sent with your consent and always include a way to unsubscribe, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.
32. Account deletion
You may request the deletion of your account at any time, from your profile in the app or by following the procedure on the "Account deletion" page of allopro.app. The request is processed within 30 days.
While an order is in progress or a conciliation is open, the account is deactivated rather than deleted: unpaid requests and offers are cancelled, paid orders run their course, and deletion takes place when they close.
On deletion, your profile, photos, conversations and identity documents are deleted or anonymized. Transaction data — amounts, dates, invoices — is kept for the period required by tax and accounting laws, and cannot be deleted at your request.
33. Mobile apps and app stores
AlloPro grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use its mobile apps on devices you control, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the store where you obtained them. Some features may require the latest version of the app.
These Terms are entered into between you and AlloPro only, and not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC, which are not responsible for the apps or their content, have no obligation to maintain or support them, and are not liable for any claim relating to them. If you use the iOS app, Apple Inc. and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Any question or claim about the apps should be addressed to AlloPro.
34. Intellectual property
The Platform, its brand, logos, text, guides, code and design remain the property of AlloPro or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any right in those elements to you, other than the right to use the Platform in accordance with these Terms.
35. Availability and changes to the service
We make reasonable efforts to keep the Platform accessible and secure, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. It may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or security reasons.
We may change the Platform's features. Some features may first be offered to a limited group of users, or first in certain areas.
Part 6 — Liability and final provisions
36. Liability and insurance
AlloPro makes reasonable verification efforts, but does not guarantee the quality of the work or the content of advice, which are the provider's responsibility.
AlloPro is not an insurer. The Platform replaces neither the client's home insurance nor the provider's civil or professional liability insurance, and offers no warranty on work or materials, which lie with the provider and their suppliers.
To the extent permitted by law, AlloPro's liability to a user is limited to direct and foreseeable damages, and may not exceed the amount of the order concerned or, for a Pro, the subscription amount paid for the last 12 months.
This limitation does not apply to bodily or moral injury, nor to injury caused by intentional or gross fault. Nothing in these Terms excludes the legal warranties or other rights that the Consumer Protection Act grants to consumers.
37. Providers' undertakings to AlloPro
A provider not acting as a consumer indemnifies AlloPro against third-party claims, fines and reasonable costs arising from their work, their advice, a false statement about their licences or insurance, or their breach of these Terms or of the law.
38. Superior force
Neither party is liable for a failure caused by superior force within the meaning of the Civil Code of Québec, notably a major outage of a payment or hosting provider, a natural disaster or a decision of a public authority.
39. Changes to the Terms
AlloPro may amend these Terms, notably the Platform's operating rules, fees and time limits. Any amendment is sent at least 21 days before it takes effect, by email and by a notice within the Platform. The notice sets out the new clause alone, or together with the clause it replaces, and states the effective date.
If you refuse the amendment, you may end the contract at no cost or penalty by closing your account before the effective date or within 30 days after it. An amendment never applies to an order already paid.
40. Governing law, courts and language
These Terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute falls under the courts of Québec, judicial district of Longueuil. Consumers retain the right to bring proceedings before the court of their domicile, and nothing in these Terms deprives them of their right to go to court, including by class action.
If any provision is held invalid, the others remain in force. Failing to exercise a right is not a waiver of it. AlloPro may assign these Terms to an entity that takes over operation of the Platform, with notice to you.
These Terms are drafted in French. An English version is provided for your convenience; in the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
